Operation Christmas Child collections to begin

November 10, 2021

Individuals wishing to participate in the First Christian Church’s Operation Christmas Child program can drop off fill shoeboxes at the church, beginning next week.

Once the shoeboxes are packed, individuals can bring their shoeboxes to the First Christian Church sanctuary (in Carnegie) during National Collection Week between November 15 thru November 22. First Christian Church is a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child and will be following CDC guidelines for touchless transfer of shoeboxes and paperwork (and also social distancing). Collection hours of operation are listed below.

Individuals may visit the website: samaritanspurse.org/occ for more information about packing a shoebox. There are items that cannot be included in the shoebox – like toothpaste, liquids of any kind, candy, war-related items, seeds, food, money, breakables, medications, and other items. You can pack a shoebox for a boy or a girl, ages 2-4; 5-9; and 10-14.

Individuals wishing to participate in the First Christian Church’s Operation Christmas Child program can drop off fill shoeboxes at the church from Monday, Nov. 15, to Thursday, Nov. 18, from 5-7 p.m., and on Friday, Nov. 19, from 2-4 p.m. Boxes will be accepted on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. until noon, and on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 1-3 p.m. Individuals needing to schedule a different drop-off time can contact Kelly Williams at (580) 774-7248.
