Juancy Orduna earned a piece of Oklahoma history - and found her a place in ag history - when she was among the top finishers in the Agriculture in the Classroom's Ag Day Art Contest.

The Carnegie Elementary School second-grader was among more than a thousand students from throughout the state that were recognized for their submissions. Each year a theme for the contest is chosen and this year’s theme was "Find your Future in Agriculture.: This theme allows students to explore all the different careers that agriculture offers.

:There are so many opportunities in agriculture," AITC organizers stated in a release that announced Orduna as a second-place finisher.

The first-, second- and third-place winning students were recognized at their schools by state

AITC Coordinators. They each received a framed version of their artwork, a medal and gift card sponsored by the Oklahoma Beef Council, and citations from their legislators.

Four overall winners, including Orduna, were recognized at Ag Day on Tuesday, March 23, at the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. They received a framed version of their artwork; a plaque, medal, and gift card sponsored by the Oklahoma Beef Council; and citations from state legislators. The winning artwork will be featured on the Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom website.
