Chandler Dee Pettit

Chandler Dee Pettit, of Apache, Oklahoma, was born April 11, 1993 in Chickasha to Robert and Dana (Leatherbury) Pettit. He passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Oklahoma City at the age of 29.

Viewing was at Crews Funeral Home on August 13-14. Funeral services were scheduled for Monday, August 15, at 10 a.m. at Apache's First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Jim Hall officiating. Pallbearers were Dustin Pettingill, Gavan Steinmetz, Charlie Tully, Verlin Marrow, Ty Zaloudek, Hunter Hollingsworth, Hunter Rhude and Jake Kinder. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Chandler was raised in Carnegie, Oklahoma and was a graduate of the class of 2012. During high school, he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was a member of many state tournament teams and was an Academic State Champion in basketball. He then went on to further his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation Management in 2016.

On October 7, 2017, Chandler married Kassie Ann Swanda at the Swandarosa Family Ranch near Apache. They attended the First Christian Church in Apache. They are expecting their first child in December.

He was known as a hard-working person. He spent countless hours at the family farm. He enjoyed growing and harvesting crops and tending to his cattle. Other hobbies include fishing, hunting, hiking and snowboarding. He loved his family, his life, and all people.

Chandler is survived by his wife, Kassie, and their baby; parents, Robert and Dana Pettit; brother, Chafen and wife Peggy Pettit and their children, Tucker and Tynlee; grandparents: Mary Ann Pettit, JoAnn Leatherbury, Danny Swanda, Frances McCracken; and parents-in-law, Kent and Tamey Swanda.

He was preceded by his grandparents: Charles Pettit, Doyle Leatherbury, Mary Joyce Swanda, Chub McCracken; and his sister-in-law, Summer Swanda.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baby Pettit College Fund in care of Shamrock Bank in Apache.
