Caddo Sports Broadcasting Network makes its debut

December 08, 2022

Caddo County sports fabs, including those from Carnegie and Fort Cobb, now have another way to keep up with their local teams.

The long-awaited Caddo Sports Broadcasting Network made its debut last week by airing the Carnegie Wildcats' cross-county showdown with Apache. Both the boys' and girls' varsity game were broadcast via the Carnegie Herald's website.

"This is something we have been working on for some time," said Herald Publisher Tommy Wells. "We are always looking for new ways to bring the news to the people."

Wells said although the broadcast would focus mainly on Carnegie athletics, other area sports programs could be covered, when possible.

"We want to get to as many teams as we can," he said. "But, primarily, we will be following the Carnegie and Fort Cobb teams."

The CSBN will be in action again this weekend with the Wildcats' and Lady 'Cats' games in Minco being aired. Select games from the Binger-Oney tournament could also be added.

Wells and CHS alum Robert Gilbert are handling the play-by-play duties for games.

As with any venture, Wells said he is seeking advertisers to help offset the costs associated with travel and broadcasting games. Ads are generally about 15 seconds in length and are played from 6-8 times per game, Wells said.
